BECOME THE RIDER
YOUR HORSE DESIRES!

LESSONS AND TRAINING

Confidence and time - these are the two most important components of a good training of reliable riding horses. Far too many horses - which sooner or later become so-called problem horses - have enjoyed a much too fast and only profit-oriented "training" with the aim of being able to celebrate great success as quickly as possible. This may work for a short time, but not permanently. Illness, bad habits, frustration and even unrideability are the consequences.

I am smiled at by many "competitive riders" for my work with the horses. "This playing is just a waste of time", "Sporthorses don't need this, this is for circus horses", "You'll never be successful this way" these are just some of the examples. But THAT is exactly what our horses need. A strong trust to its rider and that is not strengthened by riding, but by trust work on the ground.

That's why I start with every horse from the ground. I get to know the horse and the horse gets to know me. With horses that have a healthy trust in people, this happens very quickly, usually within the first session. With the horses mentioned above, which have enjoyed the profit-oriented training, the trust is often not established within 30 minutes. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 sessions. But without trust in me, the horse will not be able to work under me in a relaxed way. There will be a constant tension in the horse's body, which is counterproductive for my work. My goal is a relaxed horse with correctly working muscles and not a tense horse that puts its head down before it even starts to pull in order to escape the pressure.

Also, no horse that has been improperly trained (for years) will turn 180 degrees after the third training and all problems will be eliminated. It takes weeks to months of constant training, depending on the horse's condition, to solve the problems and restore the horse's correct posture and movement.

This also involves the owner. I look at the "complete package" - Husbandry, training condition, training and skill of the owner, and harmony between owner and horse.

My solution is that you can get along with your horse without me. Even if this makes me superfluous. Because only if you don't need me anymore (permanently), my work was successful.
